About OIT
Emory's Office of Information Technology (OIT) brings together Information Technology, and the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship, across Emory's academic and healthcare components. OIT focuses on innovation, efficiency and developing synergies and partnerships across the institution, seeking to add as much value as possible to the pursuit of Emory's mission.
Information Technology: The central Information Technology group in support of Emory University computing, data, and telephony needs, OIT encompasses enterprise services for applications and research, infrastructure support, enterprise IT security, and IT architecture. The group also provides consulting services, project management, database design, application development and integration, data integrity support, risk management, and disaster recovery services. With an impressive array of IT experts and through enterprise-wide collaboration, the Information Technology group provides its faculty, students, staff, and researchers with the tools necessary to meet with Emory’s high standards of academic excellence.
Emory Center for Digital Scholarship: The Emory Center for Digital Scholarship (ECDS) provides consulting expertise, project coordination, and a technology-rich collaborative space for faculty, staff, and students to incorporate digital tools and methods into research, teaching, and publishing. The multidisciplinary ECDS staff of technologists, librarians, faculty, curriculum designers, and students work with scholars at Emory and partner institutions to create innovative and sustainable models of digital scholarship and pedagogy for academic and public use.
Emory Healthcare IS: EHC-IS provides the guidance, input and direction in the selection, installation and support of IT solutions that meet the goals of fiscal, operational and clinical improvement for all entities of Emory Healthcare. EHC-IS has a well-defined, long-term strategy for technical architecture and infrastructure. Practices are governed by established and recognized standards, policies and procedures, innovative thinking and continual collaboration with the business units we serve. The strategy includes a multi-year, multi-faceted cross functional plan that outlines directions for all aspects of the EHC-IS organization.
