- Where can I learn more about the Chat utility?
Blackboard has a complete section on Chat in the Student Manual. Access a PDF version of the manual via the Getting Started guide.
- I don't receive any email that my professor sends from within Blackboard
If you are a LearnLink user, then the problem is related to 'junk mail acceptance'. Because Blackboard sends mail to users without disclosing their email addresses, LearnLink considers the mail to be 'junk mail'. Within LearnLink, set your options to accept junk mail via Edit, Preferences, Messages. If you are not a LearnLink user, please send an email to classes@emory.edu. State the email system you are using, along with your platform (PC or Mac).
- Is the Blackboard Communications area integrated with LearnLink?
At this time, LearnLink and Blackboard are not fully integrated. If your instructor is using LearnLink, you will still have to "login" to both systems. We have tried to make navigating between the two systems as seamless as possible. There is a Blackboard conference on your LearnLink desktop. You can also access LearnLink via the Help & Services tab within Blackboard.
- What is my Blackboard username and password?
Emory University users: Log in using your University network id and password (identical to what's being used for OPUS/PeopleSoft or Webmail). If you are still having problems, call the IT HelpDesk at 404-727-7777. Emory Healthcare users: If you have dual roles, University and Healthcare, use your University network id and password to log in. If you are classified as Healthcare only, then use your EHC login id and password. Guests (non-Emory): If you are not University-sponsored, contact your site manager. They should have this information on file.
