Eligibility Any faculty member, currently enrolled student, or staff member of Emory University is eligible for a Network ID. They are not available to Emory University alumni, the staff of Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, or the Affiliates of the University or Hospitals, including, but not limited to, the Emory Clinic, Egleston Children's Hospital, Grady Hospital and Wesley Woods. Faculty and Staff Emory University faculty and staff are granted Network IDs upon completion of departmental paperwork by Human Resources, but are not given automatic access to a LearnLink account until requested. To request a Learnlink account please go to http://help.emory.edu/ and complete the IT Support Request to request a LearnLink account. Students Undergraduate and graduate students are automatically given Network IDs, including access to LearnLink and OPUS, upon admittance. Students may retrieve their Network ID and password at http://it.emory.edu/newid. All Others People not recognized as Emory University faculty, staff, or students by Emory's Human Resources Division or the University Registrar, are not automatically eligible for Emory Network IDs, but may be granted a sponsored Network ID with permission from a departmental chairperson. These sponsored Network IDs can be granted for a period of up to one year and must be renewed prior to expiration by the sponsor. Sponsors may request Network IDs for these persons by completing the IT Support Request at http://help.emory.edu/. Changing your Network ID Password When you first receive your Network ID and password, you must change your password for security purposes at http://password.service.emory.edu/. Your new password must: - be 6-8 characters in length - not be an actual word that can be found in a dictionary - not be your name - have a non-alpha character in it (1234567890!@#$%^&) as long as that character is not the first character in the password. In addition, your password should be something that is easy for you to remember and should contain a mix of upper and lowercase letters. - Never write your password down. - Never tell anyone your password over the phone. - Never include your password in an email message, not even to UTS staff.
