ResNet (Residential Networking)

Emory's ResNet service provides the following services in the Residence Halls:

  • a cable television connection per room
  • a telephone in the hallways
  • a dedicated data port per resident per room for network access
  • a wireless network, EmoryUnplugged

The Clean Room provides full support services to Emory's residential population including: operating system installations and troubleshooting, removal of viruses and spyware, and more. These services are provided free-of-charge, but are not provided on an emergency basis. Students who must have help within 48 hours of reporting a problem should consider paying an outside vendor for assistance.

UTS supports the following operating systems for residential students:

  1. Windows Vista
  2. Windows XP
  3. Macintosh OS 10.4 and higher

If students do not have a supported operating system, they will be asked to purchase an upgrade. IT student employees and staff can assist in this upgrade, if necessary.
