Gartner Group
Gartner Group is a consulting company that studies and analyzes information technology (IT) and its use by organizations, and helps organizations use IT to improve themselves through measurement and application of best practices. Its research includes technologies and issues and their impact, recommended strategies and practices, and analyses of markets. It is one of the few research and advisory services that covers Higher Education as a market segment in addition to the usual types of businesses.
Research use and access
Gartner research can not only provide relevant information for Business School
team projects or case studies, but also information to help technology professionals understand new technologies, make plans, and choose products. Research is mainly
accessible as documents of various kinds that include meaning of significant events,
explanations of technologies, analysis of trends, advice on best practices, and comparison of specific products. The documents are stored on Gartner's website. The content in Emory's subscription that is accessible to current Emory faculty, staff, and enrolled students can be reached via login using their Emory NetID and password at https://www.app.emory.edu/gartner
- Gartner documents are and remain the property of Gartner Group and are only for Emory internal use. You may not distribute Gartner documents outside Emory, and you must destroy all copies of Gartner documents in your possession when you are no longer a student, faculty or staff at Emory. For more details, see all the terms and conditions of use of the site. A summary is also available.
- Emory's subscription only includes Core Research. In particular, it does not include full Dataquest documents or special reports. Product comparison column data is only available by request.

Finding content
Although people sometimes look for a specific Gartner document as the result of
seeing a reference to it somewhere other than Gartner, the usual approach is to
browse the Gartner documents by topic, date or author, or search for documents based
on their containing certain words of interest (called "key words"). A third possibility is to create Alerts that search new content as it is placed on the server and notify you about any that match the search criteria.
