Your name in your email address is an example of what is called an email name. An email name is the left hand side of an email address, that is, the part before the @ sign. Every email name at Emory is associated with either @emory.edu or @emoryhealthcare.org or both. Email names in school or department-based email systems are not centrally managed or assigned. Example: You can have more than one email name if necessary. All of the resulting email addresses are receive addresses, that is, they can be used to send email to you at your existing netid@emory.edu account. They are not separate accounts. You can designate one of the addresses as your official Emory email address. It will be the address to which Emory sends official email and will be used in certain Emory directories. If you are on Enterprise Exchange it will be your "From" address, the address from which your email appears to originate. Setting up an Email Name
