Emory Desktop Standards University Technology Services (UTS) together with tech professionals across campus developed the following recommended desktop standards. Individuals should work directly with their Local Support Provider to determine the specific system for your department/school. The recommendation is intended to function as a starting point for Emory faculty and staff to use as a guide when determining the configuration for a new equipment purchase. - PC Standards (desktops & laptops) - Macintosh Standards (desktops & laptops) - Software Standards (Windows OS & Macintosh OS) - Position Statements (regarding new or pending OS & Software) - Desktop Management System: University Guidelines (Version 2, PDF-format) The configuration specified is the baseline system for an average business user performing higher end word processing(PowerPoint and Visio) and low end development. Please either increase or decrease the specifications as required to fit both individual requirements and budgetary parameters. Remember to order 3 years of maintenance and support with all new systems. |
