STS Support Technician (Student Technology Support)
The LITS Student Digital Life team is responsible for the maintenance and operation of multiple Emory labs around campus (including the Computing Center at Cox Hall and the Learning Commons at Woodruff Library), EaglePrint student printing and the Student Technology Support desk.Job Description
The Student Technology Support (STS) desk is the main avenue for computing support for the Emory University student community. This includes, but is not limited to, general troubleshooting for both Mac & Windows operating systems, wireless connectivity, software installs, email setup/support, and malicious software removal. In addition to technical knowledge, candidates must be able to demonstrate professionalism, dependability, punctuality, and strong interpersonal skills. STS technicians must be able to quickly learn and adapt to a constantly changing technological world.
Must be an Emory undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in classes
Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better
Graduation date of at least 4 semesters away
Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
Working knowledge of MacOS and Windows operating systems
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Willingness to learn new technologies and skills
Strong work ethic
Experience working in a technical support environment (personal or business)
Knowledge of Windows registry editing and/or MacOS troubleshooting tools
Understanding of computer networks and how they work
Knowledge of malware and how to remove it
