If you're an incoming freshman or a Ph.D. candidate finishing off your dissertation... this is your site for getting started in computing at Emory. From email, academic computing labs, library systems, and personal web pages, Emory students have a wide range of information technology resources available to them. Some products & services are provided by their specific school and/or department, while others are provided centrally by Emory's Academic and Administrative Information Technology Division (AAIT).

Student Technology Services - Is your computer secure from attack? It is critical that you keep your computer's operating system up-to-date and fully patched so that you can avoid being another victim to virus attacks or outside hacks. View security.it.emory.edu for instructions and tools for securing your desktop or laptop computer.
- Are you unsure how to protect yourself? The Emory OnLine CD comes with a set of eVax tools that will scan, patch, and update your Windows workstation. EOL still provides Emory-licensed software such as First Class, Symantec (Norton) Anti-Virus, and more. These installers are also available online at software.emory.edu/express
- Blackboard has been upgraded to version 6! This system is Emory's comprehensive and flexible e-Learning software platform, offering course and content authoring tools, online quizzes, and more. Over 1300 classes at Emory currently use Blackboard for collaboration, teaching, and learning.
- The Computing Center at Cox Hall is Emory's state of the art collaboration lab for Emory faculty and students. Outfitted with specially designed furniture and equipped with leading edge hardware and software, the facility is the perfect location to practice PowerPoint with fellow presenters, complete iMovie assignments, or just relax, with a cup of coffee.
- The Emory Bookstore in the Dobbs University Center (DUC), sells recommended and supported hardware and software to Emory students at an educational discount. PDAs, digital cameras, iPods, scanners, and accessories are also available.
- LearnLink is Emory's campus-wide online community resource. LearnLink integrates a variety of tools and services, including email, course materials and discussion groups, student groups and activities, campus announcements, and calendars.
- HBO?... MTV?... Al Jazeera?... Univision?... Emory Television provides a wide range of programming including Emory Vision which airs original student productions and blockbuster movies.
