Confluence Wiki

Confluence, Wiki, Documentation, Collaboration

Confluence Wiki provides a tool for groups to document and collaborate together. The tool allows for the importing of documents for visual representations or in-depth documentation. Documentation is easily updated and maintained by responsible parties. Pages in Confluence are separated into "Spaces" which allow teams to have their own area for documenting and sharing content. Space Administrators can be assigned for each team so that they can manage access to their spaces for easy collaboration.

Getting Access:
Confluence is free for University and Healthcare use. Because the software is licensed by number of users, a request for access must be done through ServiceNow. Also because of the license, we will disable users inactive longer than 6 months. Deactivation does not remove the users content, it removes access until reactivated. Reactivation will require a request via ServiceNow. Both requests should have a Confluence in the subject for proper routing.

Security:
Please note that Confluence is primarily a space for collaboration and documentation, and while space administrators can limit access to content within the application, users should NOT store any HIPAA, PHI, credit card or cardholder data, passwords, or other restricted data in their pages, according to Emory Policy 5.12.
