Submission and Review Process

Step 1: Submit a project request

  • While we await an electronic request form for submittal to ServiceNow, please email ITSC Request with a project name and answers to the following six questions:
  1. What do you want to do?
  2. Why do you want to do this?
  3. Why do you want to do this now?
  4. What alternatives have you considered?
  5. What is the impact of not doing this?
  6. How does this request support Emory's Strategic Plan?

Step 2: Complete a Business Case

  • Download Business Case Template.
  • Project requests are logged into a database and assigned to an IT Business Analyst or IT Service Management Specialist
  • The originator of the request within 2 business days of the submission of the request.
  • The originator and LITS staff work together to create a detailed business case.
  • The business case is forwarded through the IT Governance Process.

Step 3: Review/Prioritization by University Governance

  • Business cases are reviewed, approved and prioritized by the IT Steering Committee (ITSC) and appropriate subcommittee(s).
  • Anyone in the Emory community with access to ServiceNow can view the business cases at -> PPM Overview
