With the multiple governance groups that look at IT issues across Emory, a natural question arises, what about our teaching and learning mission? How do IT initiatives that relate to that mission get vetted? For the annual Emory Cares project, the Call Center selected to assist the Gateway Center, a men/women's shelter, soup kitchen, and provider of family assistance, by throwing a birthday party for around 20 underprivileged children.

The way Emory's patients order food has been significantly upgraded with the new Food and Nutrition Call Center. This is a new way for Emory to provide menu selection and ordering, now providing patients with the ability to phone in their menus.

Members of Toastmasters Unplugged, OIT's Toastmasters group, offered a public speaking roadshow for Emory's Oxford College. The meeting, held in historical, 120-year-old Seney Hall, attracted over a dozen Emory employees from around the Oxford campus.
