Emory University’s administrative Data Warehouse forms part of the Business Information Management service consisting of a central repository of Emory's historical data. Its purpose is to facilitate decision-making by providing accurate, consistent, and easily understood (normalized) data. The data is generally extracted from Emory's operational systems nightly then transformed into a usable format. The warehouse includes data from multiple source systems and has been conformed to allow reporting across the various sources and across time, while providing a consistent view of the data. The warehouse contains large quantities of data for lengthy time spans. Several reporting tools are available to allow users responsible for reporting and analysis the freedom to easily and quickly view the data in the best manner for them to understand and draw conclusions from that data.
