The LITS Business and Administration division provides financial management, human resources support, contract management, and administrative services for all divisions of the Library & Information Technology Services (LITS) such as Enterprise Applications, Services, & Infrastructure, University IT Services and Research Solutions, the Chief Information Security Officer, the Chief Information Architect, and the Office of the Vice President and CIO. The division encompasses the areas of financial planning and budgeting, human resources, new-employee onboarding, benefits help, facilities management, facility-related security and other operational duties.

The Emory Center for Digital Scholarship (ECDS) provides consulting expertise, project coordination, and a technology-rich collaborative space for faculty, staff, and students to incorporate digital tools and methods into research, teaching, and publishing. The multidisciplinary ECDS staff of technologists, librarians, faculty, curriculum designers, and students work with scholars at Emory and partner institutions to create innovative and sustainable models of digital scholarship and pedagogy for academic and public use.

EHC-IS provides the guidance, input and direction in the selection, installation and support of IT solutions that meet the goals of fiscal, operational and clinical improvement for all entities of Emory Healthcare. EHC-IS has a well-defined, long-term strategy for technical architecture and infrastructure. Practices are governed by established and recognized standards, policies and procedures, innovative thinking and continual collaboration with the business units we serve. The strategy includes a multi-year, multi-faceted cross functional plan that outlines directions for all aspects of the EHC-IS organization.

Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library, the Woodruff Health Sciences Center (WHSC) Library, and the Oxford College Library.

LITS Enterprise Applications, Services, & Infrastructure is responsible for maintaining and coordinating Emory's centralized computing services and supporting administrative departments in the effective and efficient use of these technologies. We provide enterprise services to Emory University and Emory Healthcare, including administrative applications (PeopleSoft), email and calendaring (Exchange / Office 365), and support services with a 24-hour Service Desk. We also provides telephone, wireless and wired networking, paging, cable television, and radio and video services to the Emory enterprise. Enterprise Applications, Services, & Infrastructure is organized into the following three groups: Enterprise Applications, Enterprise Services, and Infrastructure.

The Library & Information Technology Services (LITS) Information Security department supports the central missions of Emory University and Emory Healthcare by helping to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Emory's information and information systems. The LITS Information Security Department helps facilitate and coordinate information security activities primarily within the areas of security policy and strategy, security awareness, security architecture, IT risk management and regulatory compliance, threat and vulnerability management, data protection, and computer security incident and data breach response.

The role of the Chief Information Technology Architect is to coordinate and lead information technology architecture initiatives across Emory University and Emory in emerging areas with recent focus on application integration, application development, mobile technologies, and cloud computing. The Chief IT Architect and IT Architecture Group work with units across the Emory enterprise as well as Emory's application vendors and partners to maintain a list of IT architecture standards and guidelines in use at Emory. Where standards do not exist, the team works with appropriate units to identify the current practices and target new standards and guidelines for the future. The IT Architecture Group works closely with groups spearheading new technology and standards to help operationalize and document new technology and practices in their initial phases of adoption.

UIT supports researchers and the academic health sciences through the design and adoption of information technology solutions. These solutions and platforms are designed, when appropriate, to comply with the unique federal regulations, such as HIPAA, and research technology and data standards, such as HL7. Our products/services help researchers collect and manage data, collaborate with peers, manage study information, manage research laboratory and specimen data, discover research resources, and analyze significant volumes of data through high performance computing. We also provide consulting services with expertise in programming, project management, Web design, cluster design and operations, and database design and management.
