Cloud Services

Cloud services are designed to provide easy, scalable access to applications, resources and services, and are fully managed by a cloud services provider.

Enterprise Cloud Services

ECS, enterprise cloud services, AWS, cloud
Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) is Emory University's preferred and recommended Cloud service for enterprise applications.  The service provides application owners a cloud platform within Amazon Web Services to build and run their applications with central IT support.  Unlike the AWS at Emory service, which is designed to provide users with an autonomous experience, Enterprise Cloud Services provides a more managed service with pre-built solutions to help with deploying and operating enterprise-style applications - including data protection, deployment pipelines, disaster recovery, high availability, logging, monitoring, networking, patching, remote access, and security services.

Emory HySci – Hybrid Scientific Cyberinfrastructure

Emory HySci is purpose-built cyberinfrastructure designed to facilitate high-speed, high-performance data transfers for research-intensive applications at Emory. Designed around the Energy Science Network’s (ESnet) “Science DMZ ” model, Emory HySci provides a network environment optimized for large-scale scientific data movement, distinct from general-purpose campus networks. By leveraging a low friction operational model, specialized infrastructure, tailored security policies, and dedicated data transfer nodes (DTNs), Emory HySci enables researchers to efficiently share and process large datasets using tools like Globus without the bottlenecks of traditional enterprise network environments. This cyberinfrastructure is available to active scientists and researchers who are engaged in data-intensive research projects.
