Emory HySci – Hybrid Scientific Cyberinfrastructure
Emory HySci is purpose-built cyberinfrastructure designed to facilitate high-speed, high-performance data transfers for research-intensive applications at Emory. Designed around the Energy Science Network’s (ESnet) “Science DMZ ” model, Emory HySci provides a network environment optimized for large-scale scientific data movement, distinct from general-purpose campus networks. By leveraging a low friction operational model, specialized infrastructure, tailored security policies, and dedicated data transfer nodes (DTNs), Emory HySci enables researchers to efficiently share and process large datasets using tools like Globus without the bottlenecks of traditional enterprise network environments. This cyberinfrastructure is available to active scientists and researchers who are engaged in data-intensive research projects.
