High Performance Computing
High Performance Computing (HPC)
Emory's Office of Information Technology (OIT) supports High Performance Computing (HPC) on campus through a relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a preferred vendor. The HPC team can meet with you directly to help you set up an account, create a virtual private cloud (VPC) as well as Amazon Machine Images (AMI). The team will also provide necessary trainings to get you started.
Amazon Web Services:
The AWS Cloud provides a broad set of infrastructure services, such as computing power, storage options, networking and databases, delivered as a utility: on-demand, available in minutes, with pay-as-you-go pricing.
For more information, please refer to the Emory AWS Service catalog.
Key Features and Benefits
Advantages and Benefits of Cloud Computing
Computing infrastructure in a cloud environment.
Highly redundant and optimized data centers that spans multiple regions.
Wide array of services.
Ability to spin up servicers with different configurations (e.g., memory intensive, GPU, optimized for storage, etc.) then spin them down again.
Eliminate guessing on your infrastructure capacity needs. You can access as much or as little as you need, and scale up and down as required with only a few minutes notice.
