A new voicemail system is coming to Emory University and Emory Healthcare.
Avaya Modular Messaging is an entirely new voicemail system which will eventually be the enterprise wide standard for voicemail and voice messaging. The implementation of Modular Messaging serves to further Emory's goal of a single voice and voicemail system for all of Emory University and Emory Healthcare. The first phase of this conversion will take place on February 25th 2009 as Modular Messaging will replace the current Audix voicemail system. Some of the many benefits of the new system include:
Consolidation of emails and voicemails into a users email inbox
The ability to retrieve messages through a telephone, computer, or PDA.
The ability for users to change features and settings of their mailbox through Outlook, the telephone, or a web interface.
Ability to forward voicemails through email.
These are just a few of the exciting new features and functionality available with the new Modular Messaging system with more features to be rolled-out at a later date.
Who is affected?
The February 25th phase affects only Audix users (Those individuals who dial 6-5800 to access their voicemails.) Eventually all users including those on Meridian Mail (Those who dial 7-8800 to access their messages) will be converted to the new system. As specific areas are targeted for conversion you will receive prior notice as to your areas conversion date. This is a large scale project and some users may not be converted for several months.
