The Goizueta Business School (GBS) recently requested UTS assistance in helping modernize their network. The goal was to take better advantage of UTS' available services, such as enhanced roaming for wireless devices, Power over Ethernet (PoE) that eliminates the need for all end-devices to be self-powered, an additional gigabit to the desktop capability, and the deployment of voice over IP (VoIP) telephones.
Stage One included the installation of a parallel UTS network which will allow for a phased migration of services and users onto UTS support and equipment. The first service to migrate was EmoryUnplugged on March 7th, with the next services to be migrated likely after graduation. As GBS migrates to UTS support, they will enjoy the ability to utilize the Call Center for one-stop shopping of future requests and for resolution concerning UTS supported network concerns.
