Annual CD/DVD Recycling A Success

The UTS Annual Disc Collection Drive was a great success and over 4,000 discs were collected across the campus. UTS invited all nine Schools participate at any one of four collection sites; taking advantage of disc shredders for sensitive data and then placing the remnants in the bins.
Recycling is a mainstream activity for Atlanta; it's an industry unto itself and everyone can participate. There are electronic recycling events held monthly in Decatur and Atlanta. Staples, Office Max, Best Buy, Lowe's, Home Depot and Cartridge World top the list for retail stores that act as recycling centers (for specific items). The website www.earth911.com details extensive listings for recycling of all kinds - not just electronics. You only have to indicate what you want to recycle, type in your zip code and click Search. Based on your search criteria, it will provide a list of all events, ongoing collection centers, curbside services and even a map view.
